One or two more pictures, then we're out!

Just a couple of new pictures and we (Animal Stories) are out! In the meantime, I will be putting together short zines featuring some of the existing stories and illustrations - not because you want them, just because we like to waste paper (trees are for suckers - of air, primarily.) You should be able to find them soon at Cyclops on North Ave and at Bookfest, where I will also be reading (perhaps in a Speedo) from a memoir entitled Arnold:The Education of a Bodybuilder. Love it or leave it, People!

Illustrations nearly done, Baltimore!

After toiling away for the past few months, I beleive the lovely and talented CSands will be finished her illustrations for our book Animal Stories before I know it (and certainly before you know it!) This is very exciting news! A few more edits and I will be done. Then its time for printing and selling ourselves to ya'll. Buy our book, read our stories, and look at our pictures, Baltimore! We're your no-so-forgotten children already!

Slacking, vacationing, writing, CSands drawing...Tip Jar!

So, I am back from the Carribean and once again am tempted to leave the city that I love...On that note, please visit Cyclops on North Avenue and put your change or entire billfold in the tip jar to the left of the register, marked "Get Timmy and Carabella to Europe Fund" Or for those of you who would like us to visit Latin America, hold tight and you will be given the option of using a similar tip jar for that purpose. It is like a competition where only CSands and I are the winners (psych, we will blog and write and send you souvenirs, of course...).

Also, I will be reading at Cyclops on Tuesday, August 6th. Come by and watch then stay for live music by a beautiful singer/songwriter! Can't wait to meet her!

As far as the Camp Journal goes: I have been slacking...I will try to make up for what I have missed and go back to following the rules ASAP. Please forgive me.

The title of the book "Animals" has been changed to "Animal Stories" and will include a lovely piece about bio-luminesence and vomiting mermaids. Aren't you pumped? CSands has been knocking out the illustrations one-by-one and we hope to have the book done in time for Baltimore Book Festival.

Another segue: CSands has some of her early work on display at The Depot on CHarles Street. Go look. Then buy drinks. Then buy art for your sweetheart who will love you for it if he/she is as rad as the sweetheart that you always dreamed of. Go! Now! People! Go!

Camp Journal and other stuff

I am currently documenting the next 8 weeks of my life in a "Camp Journal" activity book (thanks, Cyclops!). Be warned, everyone I come in contact with is a potential "camper". Meanwhile, Carabella is working hard on the pictures for the "Animals" book and has recently created a beautiful drawing of a baby born clutching a starfish to its chest. The baby is done in wonderful detail with a particularly splendid looking vagina....I will be handing out plenty of free homemade crap at Artscape, Northscape, Cyclopscape, WTF?-Scape II, Foodscape, and any other "Scape" you can think of...Come out to the arts district this weekend and get some!

Thanks to Cyclops and Eight Stone Press!

Thanks to Cyclops and Eight Stone Press and everyone who turned out and read and played music the other day! You were all excellent! Let's do it again real soon! Who isn't a big fan of alcohol infused literary events? I am and the readings at Cyclops are the most fun! Everybody come to the next one. ps. There will be a whole lot of stuff going at Cyclops over Artscape, so come out and be a part of it! Support Baltimore's lit scene!

Go to Cyclops tonight people!

Go to Cyclops tonight and support the store and Eight Stone Press' open mic night! There will be a bluegrass jam session beforehand (I may even bring my banjo and throw off everyone's rhythm) and then folks will be reading at 9 pm. After all of the talented writers read, I am going to read something...Maybe from the Animals manuscript, maybe not...Come and find out! Also buy books and beer and things from Andy!

Thanks to Cyclops and For Crying Out Loud!

Thanks to Andy and Fernando and everyone who came out on Friday to Cyclops to watch and read! A good time seemed to be had by all! ps. Andy, keep up with the pouring shots while I am reading, at least one component of the performance will always for sure be amusing!

Also, C Sands and I are trucking along on the "Animals" book, which will hopefully be done by the end of this summer and wil definitely be out before Bookfest (Hear that Cara? New Deadline!).

Support the local Lit Scene this week by going to Cyclops for the Eight Stone Press folks' Open Mic reading...Those things always prove to be a good time! I may read a story about throwing pennies...or Moles...or something...And Hopefully we can convince CSANDS to read or tell a story also! Sands???

Hey Read This! Press: Trading Cards!

Hey Read This! Press: Trading Cards!

Trading Cards!

Carabella and Brady Starr and I began the ultra-serious endeavour of making trading cards yesterday. If you were lucky enough to be handed one yesterday, then save it! They rule! Wait, no don't save it (unless you are Andy and the card is totally Cyclops specific), instead you should find someone else with a card and trade with them. This will be difficult to do until we get more cards out there. Maybe whole sets will soon come. Either way they are silly/fun/sometimes beautiful and you should keep your eye out. You should also go to Don's art supply store at North and Howard and get some of your own to trade with us and other people around town...Also, the illustrations for "Animals" are now being made largely in the trading card format, so get ready for tiny detailed pictures ya'll! Holler if you hear me!

Good job everyone who went to Eight Stone's release at Cyclops

More than 40 peeps at a bookstore on North Avenue??? Seriously? That's rad! Good job to Andy and Eight Stone Press and all the people who I watched read and a big sorry I was next door most of the time to those I missed...If you did, thank you so much for sticking around afterward and watching me slur a silly story about ants! Called "Ants"! It will be included in the book of stories Carabella Sands and I are working on, which should be out before you know it...Literally.

ps. Aren't I shameless? I just turned a thank you into a sales pitch...

Hey Look For This!

The short story The Life and Times of Sneaky Pete will be available starting...Now! Go look for them because they're probably free unless you want to buy me something! Plus its a funny story about a fellow who was born to be a ninja but lived at the wrong place and time...

Puzzles and Coloring Books

We are making puzzles! Slowly! They're not that hard yet! For you! Hard for me, sort of...At least to make. But puzzles are rad!

Also, hopefully a coloring book is in the works later this summer/fall...If anyone out there likes to draw things that people can color in, let me know...

Pretty Pictures! And stories too!

A new short story collection to be called "Animals" will contain illustrations by Baltimore's own creative genius, Carabella Sands (embarrassed yet, Carabella?) The book will also contain a bizarre story/game collaboration between TImmy Reed and Ms. Sands (think bestial love, nudity, wild boars, chickens and, of course, family). The book should be out soon enough, hopefully printed and bound by Artscape and will be available at Cyclops on North Avenue, among other places - like my apartment. Why not Read This book? And also look at the pictures!

Read Free Stories!

One that is interested in reading something short and fast can look mainly around Midtown and the Arts District (Cyclops, Joe Squared, and Wind-Up are usually a good bet) for free copies of "A Friendly Pest" (you can draw your own illustrations in this version!) and also a two-story collection of the short-shorts "Animal Hospitality" and "Ants". These stories will be featured among others in a collection of stories entitled "Animals", which will be available as soon as I can get it out there. Hopefully bound and illustrated within the month. Fingers are crossed. "Animals" will not likely be free, but who knows? Read it anyway! There should be pretty pictures inside! Of animals!
